- Põlvamaa county is located in the South-East part of Estonia, common
border with Russian Federation.

- Mostly Estonians
- 73% resides in rural settlements, 27% in towns
- Setomaa is a cultural-historical area in the county.
- This area consists of six municipalities: Meremäe, Misso, Orava,
