with Russia

Russians 71,0%, Ukrainians 3,2%, Byelorussians 3,3%, Other 3,8% (1998)
- Rate of employment,15-69 yr olds – 54%; Estonia 61% (2005)
- Rate of unemployment – 16%; 8% (2005)

manufacture, metal-working and wood-working, production of furniture,
building materials, controlling and measuring apparatuses, industrial
equipment.

services. The overall number of enterprises in Narva is growing steadily.

Ivangorod
Ivangorod is border town on the Russian side, located opposite to Narva
- Population 11 900 inhabitants
- The economic situation in Ivangorod is unstable. Large city enterprises
are almost inactive, the greatest share in 2000 belonged to trade - 43%.
Small business sector is developing, profit in industry and construction has
increased due to the creation of new businesses and the building of a
complex of purifying machinery. Industrial production of 2004 exceeded that
of 2003 more than 2 times. In 2004, the largest enterprise of the town
employed 183 employees.
